Pay parking next to Panaji bus stand soon

The transport department has decided to introduce pay parking system at its 17,490 square meter land lying between the KTC bus stand and the EDC’s Patto Plazza.  

 The department has proposed a rate of around Rs 300 for 24 hours for heavy buses and trucks and Rs 150 for parking upto 8 hours. Currently, the area is being used by to park private interstate buses.   

Other category of vehicles like buses, minibus and trucks will be charged Rs 75 (upto 8 hours) and Rs 125 (for 8 to 24 hours) for parking. The facility can also be used to park scooters, bikes and cars.

The transport department has floated a tender to select an agency to run the pay parking system on its behalf.

There is already a pay parking system at the Kadamba Transport Corporation bus stand and Patto Plaza.
