Peace vital for progress of nation
MARGAO: Members of the Peace and Humanity Forum (Margao chapter) assembled near MMC building on September 21, to spread the message of peace, brotherhood and unity among countrymen.
Addressing the gathering, Margao PI C L Patil said peace is vital for togetherness which helps progress of the State and the country. “It is only with peace that the country can attain the status of a superpower,” Patil remarked.
Deputy Collector Ajit Panchwadker, said in order to fight the menace of conflicts in the country, we have to inculcate the values and teaching of togetherness to the youngsters. “Happiness is in giving and not snatching,” he remarked.
Many other members of the Forum highlighted the concept of unity in diversity. “Co-operation and communication between different communities is necessary for peace,' said a member of the Forum. Members informed that this campaign began on September 21, and will involve organising lectures in schools and colleges and would culminate in a public meeting on October 5, at 4 pm at Lohia Maidan, Margao.
