Pedestrian hit twice by driver reversing car on Panaji footpath dies
The victim, identified as 50-year-old Mukut Joshi Bora from Assam, was critically injured in the incident after the driver reversed his car onto a footpath near the Panaji market.

The pedestrian who was hit twice by a reversing car driven by an allegedly drunk youth on Tuesday morning succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as 50-year-old Mukut Joshi Bora from Assam, was critically injured in the incident after the driver reversed his car onto a footpath near the Panaji market around 7.45 am. 

The driver, identified as Shahid Ansari of Taleigao, has been arrested.

The CCTV footage “ which went viral after the accident and is now being examined by police along with the accused’s other related records “ showed the car first rammed into parked two-wheelers and then the pedestrian twice. 

The victim was pinned between the vehicle and a shop shutter, resulting in serious injuries.
