Minor girl injured after bus hits her at Alto-Dabolim

A minor girl was injured on Monday afternoon after a bus reportedly hit her near the Vales Junction in Dabolim while she was crossing the internal road to return home.

The incident occurred around 2.20 pm, triggering concern among residents of the densely populated Alto Dabolim locality.

According to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the bus was being driven in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from the internal road at Vales Junction towards Landing Point, Dabolim.

As the vehicle reached Vales Junction, the accused driver reportedly hit the complainant’s daughter, who was crossing the road to enter her residential lane. The impact caused the minor to fall onto the road, sustaining injuries to her left shoulder, right ear, head and other parts of the body.

Based on the complaint, Vasco Police registered an offence under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

The investigation has been handed over to Lady Head Constable Shradha Naik of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik.
