Due to public demand, the government has decided to keep the third Mandovi bridge "Atal Setu" open for pedestrians till February 3, informed the vice-chairman of GSIDC Sidharth Kuncalienkar on Monday.
"It was requested by many citizens that the Atal Setu be kept open for all to visit for a few more days. Keeping in mind their requests, it has been decided that the Atal Setu will be kept open for pedestrians till Sunday, February 3, ONLY from the Porvorim side, opposite Hotel Majestic," read the press statement.
School delegations accompanied by teachers will be allowed to visit the bridge from 10 am to 12 noon, the general public will be allowed everyday from 5 pm to 7 pm, and only on Sunday, February 3 from 10 am to 7 pm.
Special KTC shuttle buses will ply to take the visitors to the cable stayed portion at regular intervals.
Regular vehicular movement will commence from Monday, February 4.
"All desirous are requested to visit the bridge and enjoy the experience on India's 3rd longest cable-stayed bridge," said Kuncalienkar.
