People misuse RTI Act: Dy Collector
MAPUSA: Deputy Collector Pundalik Korjuvenkar on Tuesday said the nation has progressed and given the people brilliant legislations like the Right to Information Act, but lamented that a lot of people are misusing it.
“The RTI Act is the best law that the legislators have given the people of this country, but many people are making wrong use of the Act in order to harass individuals,” said Korjuvenkar, after unfurling the flag at the Hutatma Chowk, Mapusa, on Tuesday.
He said the country has taken big strides in development and the State has also progressed.
The deputy collector further said people in Bardez stood to benefit as the deputy chief minister and two ministers were from the taluka.
He lamented that students were mostly addicted to mobile phones and hardly paid attention to reading.
Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Sandeep Falari, councillors, Mamlatdar Madhu Narvekar, MMC Chief Officer Raju Gawas and others were also present.
