PERNEM
Appealing to people in Pernem not to oppose the upcoming Entertainment Village project in Mandrem, Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar assured that the project would safeguard environment, Goa and Goenkarponn.
"However, the project should be completed only after taking people into confidence,” said Ajgaonkar while addressing a news conference in Pernem.
Ajgaonkar claimed that this project would generate job opportunities to youths from Mandrem and Pernem.
“A festival like Sunburn takes place in Calangute and people specifically demand such events. Such events give a boost not only to the State's economy but also to small businesses like local hotels in the area. Nothing will be done to harm the environment."
"At present, there is not a single five-starred hotel in coastal area of Pernem. We want Goa to make progress and I'm sure Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte will go ahead with the project by taking everyone into confidence," he added.
