People will decide fate: Reginaldo on BJP’s 2027 ambitions

MARGAO
Curtorim Independent MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has said the fate of the candidates and political parties lies in the court of the people contesting elections.

The Independent MLA, who is a coalition partner in the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant led-BJP government, made this observation when the media sought to know his reaction to the announcement made by BJP State president Damu Naik that the ruling party will contest all the 40 Assembly seats in the 2027 Assembly elections.

In fact, Reginaldo sought to wriggle out of the situation to the query on Damu Naik’s statement on contesting all the 40 Assembly seats in 2027. Damu’s statement also assumes significance given that the BJP has strengthened the party organisation in Curtorim with the recent appointment of Dr Sneha Bhagwat as the president.

“Finally, the fate of the candidates and parties lies with the people. If you do good work, people will stand by you. There is no point in talking about the election. Those who want to talk, let them talk, but the fact remains that the people are the deciders in deciding the fate of the candidates and the parties,” Reginaldo added.

The Curtorim MLA on Thursday launched hot mixing works in Curtorim constituency at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore. He has called for cooperation from the local residents for the smooth execution of the hot mixing works.

Some of these roads had not received the hot mix coat for over a decade now, with the MLA saying that he has embarked on an exercise to hot mix most of the roads in Curtorim constituency.
