PERNEM

There was a mixed response to the Bandh in Pernem taluka on Wednesday.

While private buses across Pernem taluka supported the bandh and did not ply along various routes, KTC buses were seen proceeding to different destinations.

Most shops and establishments remained opened during the day but business was poor on account of the few bus services, which also affected attendance in most government offices. However, most of the banks remained open for the day.

The Pernem bus stand was almost deserted in the absence of private buses. Police teams were stationed at the Pernem bus stand and other locations, to prevent any untoward incident.
