Three mobile phones, a battery bank and some artificial jewellery belonging to vendors at the Rajashthani Grameen Mela were stolen at the Vasco Residency basement hall in the hours of Tuesday morning.
Avil Sharma, an employee of the Rajasthani Grameen Mela, said this was the second time the place was burgled in the last two days.
“On Sunday morning, someone stole all artificial jewellery worth Rs 5,000 from the shelf at around 2.30 am while we were asleep, but we did not take any action and ignored it.”
“But early Tuesday morning, some unknown culprits entered the premises and stole three mobile phones, a battery power bank and some clothes of three employees who were asleep outside the exhibition for security purpose,” said Sharma.
Mahaveer Challani, organiser of the Rajasthani Grameen Mela, said the repeated burglary was of great concern to all vendors who were a part of the exhibition.
“Both these incidents happened after 3 am because till around 2 am some of our vendors were awake. These artisans are poor people and cannot afford such losses,” said Challani.
A police complaint has been filed in the Vasco police station.
