Pillion rider injured as tree falls in Guirim

A pillion rider from Aldona was injured, while the rider escaped unhurt after a tree fell at Sarvewada in Guirim on Wednesday morning. The incident took place when Sahil Bandodkar and his friend were travelling on a scooter from Mapusa to Panaji. As they reached Sarvewada, a tree suddenly fell onto their scooter.

Bandodkar suffered a serious head injury. The rider was not hurt as he was wearing a helmet. Bandodkar is currently undergoing treatment at the Mapusa District Hospital. Local residents later cleared the fallen tree from the road, restoring smooth traffic flow.
