Red Cross volunteers, schools honoured for Flag Day collections

PANAJI

The Governor of Goa and President of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Goa State, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, presented awards to Junior Red Cross (JRC) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) volunteers and schools at a function held at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday. The awards recognised contributions to the Flag Day collection, which raises funds for humanitarian activities.   

Awards were presented to St Michael High School, The Progress High School, Dr K B Hedgewar High School, Sacred Heart High School, Fairyland High School, Madkaikar Higher Secondary School, Vidhya Prabhodini Higher Secondary, P V S Madhusudan Kushe Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, along with their students.  

Chairman of IRCS Goa State, Gaurish Dhond, said the funds collected support relief and healthcare services across the State.
