Kerala native held with suspected psilocybin

CANACONA

A Kerala native living in Canacona was caught on Tuesday night with dried magic mushrooms, suspected to contain psilocybin. According to Canacona police, a raid was carried out at IDC Shristhal. Rojin Philip Mathews was found in possession of 16.6 grams of the substance, valued at around Rs 41,500. He was arrested, and further investigation is being led by PSI Ramdas Doifode. Police said Mathews, who is a director at a company, may have been using the firm’s cover while holding the suspected drugs. The company, which supplies mushroom-based products such as oil in Canacona, is now under investigation for possible misuse of its operations.

Traffic cell seizes 5 bikes in drive against loud silencers

PANAJIThe Traffic Department on Wednesday resumed its drive against unauthorised modified bike silencers and loud exhausts. The Panaji Traffic Cell seized five motorcycles during the operation.
