Plaint against Fatorda PI for casteist remarks

MARGAO
A day after the Fatorda police booked Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai and 100 other supporters of the Goa Forward party for obstructing traffic at Fatorda on Thursday, two ladies from Fatorda have complained against Fatorda Police Inspector Kapil Nayak alleging casteist comments against them.

In their written complaint to Superintendent of Police, Margao, the duo has requested to file complaint under Section 3 (i) (x) of Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and u/s 504 and 506 of IPC against PI Kapil Nayak.

They alleged that Kapil Naik insulted them by calling them by their caste. They claimed the incident happened while they were proceeding to their respective houses walking from Fatorda Forward Avenue Junction after visiting SGPDA, Margao market.

“While reaching the Fatorda Forward Avenue Junction we encountered a huge crowd gathering along with the police force. After reaching the spot, as a matter of concern we questioned PI Kapil Nayak, as to what is the problem and why the huge crowd has assembled here? He did not bother responding to our concern. Instead PI Kapil Nayak yelled at us and threatened us that he would put us behind the bars and told us to get lost from there by making a casteist slur. Our MLA Vijai Sardesai told us to stay away from PI Kapil Nayak and requested the PI not to use his forceful strength against us.”

The complaint stated, while seeking Kapil Nayak.
