Plea to appeal bars ban in SC
PERNEM: Pernem Congress youth leader Sachin Parab has requested the State government to appeal before the Supreme Court to revoke its decision of shutting down bars and wine shops located within 500 metres of national and State highways.
Addressing a news conference, Parab claimed that over 2,000 youth in Pernem taluka are directly or indirectly dependent on this business.
“Many Goan youth have continued their family business of running bars and it would be impossible for the government to give government jobs to everyone.”
“The government should have heard the grievances of bar owners and accordingly, should have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court on behalf of bar owners,” said Parab.
