Plumbing education to be introduced in Engineering and Architecture institutions across the country as the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an MoU with Indian Plumbing Association (IPA).
The MoU was signed by Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and Gurmit Singh Arora, National President, Indian Plumbing Association.
As part of this MoU, a 4-credit course on “Plumbing’ (Water and Sanitation) will be offered for students studying Engineering, Architecture or Interior Designs or graduates having Major degree in Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or Interior Designing.
This course would be one part of the proposed full MEP course as a ‘Minor’ degree, to be developed in future, IPA and AICTE will advise all education institutions under AICTE to adopt Plumbing (Water and Sanitation) course in their institution to train and develop students to become industry ready.
