Police complaint filed against 2 excise staff at Pernem

PERNEM

Congress Spokesperson Sanjay Barde has filed a police complaint in the Pernem Police Station, accusing two persons in the Pernem excise of a scam to the tune of Rs 2 crore.

After registering his complaint, Barde spoke to media persons and said that when the scam came to light, the Commissioner of Excise should have informed the Pernem Police and lodged a formal complaint, which was not done.

Barde claimed the scam had been going on for many years and insisted that a single person could not be involved in such large-scale crimes without the protection of senior officers.

“Several vehicles illegally transport large amounts of liquor, but excise officers intercept only one or two vehicles and show that action is being taken,” said Barde.

“A large amount of liquor is illegally being transported from Goa to Maharashtra and CM Pramod Sawant should look into this matter,” he added.
