Former minister and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Tuesday said the police have failed to take action against the touts and illegal activities taking place in the beach village and therefore the youth were forced to come out due to frustration.
Lobo also said that he along with the panchayat will not rest until action was taken against the illegal activities happening in Calangute.
“Police have been found wanting in tackling the menace of touts and illegal activities and therefore the youth got frustrated and came out. Until action is not taken against the touts and illegal guides, we will not rest,” Lobo said.
He said the Director General of Police and the Superintendent of Police were now stepping in to correct the wrong.
