Goa Police may initiate the process to declare the accused Manoj Singh, brother of notorious criminal Gajendra Singh (alias Chotu), who is allegedly involved in the Arpora-Nagoa stabbing case, a proclaimed offender as he has been absconding despite an arrest warrant was issued against him.
The police are expected to approach a court to declare the accused a proclaimed offender as he has been eluding the police, who cannot execute the warrant issued against him.
“The accused Manoj Singh has remained elusive despite the arrest warrant issued against him. We will move the court to declare him a proclaimed offender and further order attachment of his property,” Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi told The Goan.
Anjuna Police on October 7 had obtained a warrant of arrest against accused Manoj Singh who was one of the 15 persons involved in the stabbing of a Calangute youth at Arpora-Nagoa.
So far, Anjuna Police has arrested 14 persons, including the notorious accused Tarzan Parsekar, in connection with the stabbing of the youth. All are presently behind bars.
It may be recalled a Ravi Shirodkar (30) from Calangute was stabbed in the abdomen on October 1 near the Arpora-Nagoa circle.
He underwent surgery in the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
Dalvi informed that the victim Ravi Shirodkar in his statement to the police has named all the 15 accused who were involved in the dastardly attack.
