Police register FIR against Assolna local for spreading communal discord

The Cuncolim police have registered an FIR against Anthony D’Silva, a resident of Ambelim-Assolna, upon a complaint lodged by Malcolm Pereira, a resident of Chinchinim for allegedly trying to provoke people and to disturb communal harmony through his video clip and by making it viral on social media.

In his complaint, Malcolm alleged that Anthony had prior to April 3, 2025 deliberately with malicious intention to outrage and to wound the religious feelings of the Hindu people, has made a video wherein he has made a comment on Sadhus and Bhats of the Hindu religion and made it viral on social media thereby hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu people.

The Cuncolim police have registered an offence against Anthony under section 192, 196, 299, 302 of BNS. Anthony later told the media that the complaint is false and fabricated and that he will lodge a counter complaint.
