The politicians were thrown questions on language, garbage, lackadaisical administration as well as broken promises as they had to ward off discomforting questions ahead of the approaching elections.
Shvetang Pai Angle from PCCE, Verna bagged the best student paper presentation award for his paper on “Discrete Event Simulation for planning a traffic intersection”.
Organised by the Center for Research and Excellence between Society and Technology (CREST) of Fr Agnel College, Pilar, the event ‘Ground Zero’ promised to be a platform for constructive debates and discussions between aspiring candidates not just of the constituency but also of the State.
“Ground Zero hopes to foster a synthesis between the leaders and their electorates to contribute towards a more secure and vibrant democracy,” a statement from the college has said.
Earlier, on the occasion of United Nation’s International Youth Day, back in August, CREST had organized its 2nd State Level APJ Abdul Kalam Conference for “Livability of Planet Earth”.
The conference had three lectures on “Livable Planet Earth: Impact of Ocean noise on Fishing Patterns” by Dr Bishwajit Chakraborty (chief scientist at CSIR-NIO), “Livable Planet Earth: Resolving human wildlife conflicts” by Benhail Antão (honorary wildlife warden , forest department) and
“Livable Planet Earth: Avoiding future water wars” by Hegel Da Costa.
