Shiv Jayanti celebrations were organised in a big way in the commercial capital on throughout Wednesday with politicians and people from all walks of life participating in the celebrations.
Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai, Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, BJP Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar, BJP State President Damu Naik, besides Margao Municipal chairperson Damu Shirodkar, Councillors and others all partook in the Shiv Jayanti celebrations at the Housing board, from where the traditional Shiv rally commenced before it wend its way through the commercial capital late evening.
Social Welfare Minister Subhash Faldesai also made his presence felt at the Maruti Temple, Rumdamol to pay his respect to Sambaji Maharaj at his life size statue along with Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar.
Rallies and programmes were held at several places in Salcete, including the government funded programme at the Margao Municipal Council. Shiv rallies were taken out at Cuncolim, Pajifond and other places.
