According to the police, Sidhant Gauns complained that some persons entered his shop at Usgao and assaulted him and damaged two LED TVs and stole cash of Rs 85,000.
Offense was registered under Sections 143, 147, 452, 323, 427, 506 (ii) and 392 r/w 149 of IPC.
Subsequent to the incident, villagers targeted the houses of the accused to take revenge.
In a complaint regarding setting houses on fire, Bassava Ramesh Doddamani lodged complaint against 243 persons. She has claimed loss of Rs 50 lakh.
This offence has been registered under Sections 143, 147, 148, 504, 506 (ii), 323, 324, 307, 397, 354, 336, 427, 435, 436, 448, 452, 380 r/w 149 and 120-B of IPC.
Ponda Police is investigating both the cases.
It may be recalled that on Saturday, a group of villagers from Usgao torched three houses and a scrapyard and also damaged two houses, two shops and two two-wheelers, after a youth from the locality was allegedly assaulted by some persons associated with a scrapyard.
