According to sources, a group of youth from Mollem were travelling in their swift car to Ponda. When they reached at Dharbandora, four youth on their two KTM bikes followed them and dashed the car. During that time they decided to compromise on the issue by paying for the loss. One of the bikers sat in the car, while occupant of the car sat on the bike and proceeded towards Ponda.
Sources further informed that when the car reached the junction near Sahakari petrol pump at Curti-Borim bypass, the bikers along with their other friends, who had rushed at their request, were assaulting their friend who had gone on the two-wheeler.
When the occupants of the car stopped to save their friend, the accused stoned the car and damaged it. They also assaulted other occupants of the car, informed sources.
Agnel Fernandes, an occupant of the car, sustained injuries and was rushed to Sub District Hospital at Ponda.
Ponda Police rushed to the site, after some people informed them about the incident. No sooner the police reached the site, the bikers fled from the spot. Ponda Police were registering the case till late evening.
