Pope Francis asks for peace prayers
PANAJI: Pope Francis will be leading an international inter-religious prayer meeting for peace at Assisi, Italy, on September 20, following a tradition begun by his predecessor St John Paul II.
The Vatican Embassy in New Delhi has recently released a communication asking all the local churches in India to celebrate on the same day a day of prayer for peace.
Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão has requested parish priests and superiors of Catholic institutions in Goa to share this information with their parishioners and communities on September 18. Besides praying for world peace during the masses on September 20, Catholics are urged to also pray their family Rosary.
