BELAGAVI
Prices of vegetables in the wholesale vegetable market in Belagavi remained stable throughout last week, except for prices of leafy vegetables like coriander and spinach that increased marginally compared to last week.
Prices of onion have come down drastically, compared to last week due to a rise in arrival of onions from Nasik and other onion-growing areas in Maharashtra and north Karnataka. Though prices of potatoes have remained stable, the arrival of good red potatoes from the potato growing hinterland of Belagavi district, which is famous for its quality, has forced buyers from Maharashtra to prefer purchasing potatoes from Belagavi market yard.
