Porvorim Police carried out a narcotics raid and seized ganja worth around Rs 29,000 near Pundalik Nagar.
According to police, based on a complaint by PSI Arun Rohidas Shirodkar, a team led by him conducted the raid on 10 June 2026 between 10:00 pm and 10:45 pm near Pundalik Devastan,
Pundalik Nagar.
During the operation, the police caught the accused, Vijay Somnath Eligar (25), a resident of Lobo Wado, Mapusa. On search, he was found in possession of a dried green leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops suspected to be ganja, weighing 285 grams. The estimated market value is around Rs 29,000.
The police also seized a red and black TVS Apache motorcycle bearing registration number GA-03-AL-5699 along with other articles. A panchnama was carried out on the spot, and the seized items were taken into custody.
An offence has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
