Post-Covid care facility at Hospicio likely

MARGAO
A post-Covid OPD will soon become a reality at the Hospicio hospital, with the authorities planning to run the facility for Covid patients looking for after-care.

The Hospicio administration headed by Medical Superintendent, Dr Deepa Correia Afonso has moved a proposal to the Director of Health Services to set up the post-Covid clinic at the hospital.

The proposed clinic will initially function weekly on Thursdays, with officials saying it will be kept open depending on the response.

While the South Goa district hospital has been designated as a Covid hospital, the post-Covid clinic will be set up at Hospicio since the authorities felt it should be away from the Covid hospital.

That’s not all. Hospicio presently plays host to X-ray and CT-scan facility, which can be put to use for the recovered patients.

If everything goes on well, the post-Covid OPD or clinic may start functioning from Hospicio later this week on Thursday.
