Madganvcho Awaaz leader Prabhav Naik criticised the Goa Electricity Department on Sunday, stating that frequent power cuts on Saturday disrupted Diwali festivities in and around Margao, spoiling Diwali Paadva celebrations.
Naik also noted that a planned power shutdown in several Margao areas on Sunday, 3rd November, dampened Bhaubeej celebrations. He questioned, “Why is the government not allowing Goans to celebrate their festivals properly?”
He urged the government and elected representatives to show more sensitivity towards the public, adding that repeated power interruptions and shutdowns had ruined Diwali celebrations in Margao. “The Goa Electricity Department has left Bhaubeej in darkness,” he remarked.
