Power department unveils OTS scheme

PANAJI

One-time settlement (OTS) scheme of Electricity department for payment of outstanding power dues will be operational from December 1, 2020 

Disclosing this, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, said the scheme will be in force for only one month.

Outstanding power bills (upto Oct 13, 2020) can be paid with full or part-waiver of delayed payment charges. 

As per scheme, consumers have to pay only the principal amount and the delayed payment charges will be waived off in full or part depending upon the time slab selected for payment. 

Around Rs 412 crore, including Rs 320 crore principal amount and Rs 92 crore delay payment charges is outstanding from various power consumers including domestic, commercial and industrial.
