As many as three police officers have so far presided over the Colva police station, but the investigations into the electrocution of the Rajasthan tourist seemed to have hit a roadblock.
The death due to electrocution of the tourist continues to stand registered as an unnatural death, when the post-mortem report says the tourist died due to electrocution and an inspection report by the Electricity Department was categorical in pointing out that the electric cable was damaged resulting in leakage of current.
Sources said when the incident occurred, the police station was presided over by PI Tulsidas Naik.
Investigation in the case was later monitored by PI Tukaram Chawan, who held additional charge of Colva police station when PI Tulsidas Naik had proceeded on leave.
Finally, when PI Tulsidas was shunted out from Colva, PI Filomena Costa assumed charge of the Police station. Till date, however, the police has not capped the investigations, on whether the death of the Rajasthan tourist was due to negligence or otherwise.
