MARGAO
Madganvcho Awaaz has appealed for prompt appointments of judges to ensure smooth functioning of trial courts in South Goa.
Prabhav Naik shared that at present, six out of ten trial courts in the region are without appointed judges, which has slowed down the hearing of cases.
He mentioned that the ten courts in Salcete include four under the senior civil division and six under the junior civil division. Currently, only one junior civil judge court is working fully, while one of the senior civil courts is also without a judge.
He added that it is important to keep legal institutions running efficiently to help people get timely justice.
Prabhav requested Law Minister Aleixo Sequeira to see that all vacant posts are filled soon.
He also suggested putting in place a clear process to prevent such vacancies in future so that courts can continue to serve the people without delays.
