Responding to the sealing of OTTELLO restaurant/resort in Arambol which had been operating on land owned by him, former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar clarified the property is leased and asserted the structures were erected by the leaseholder without his involvement.
“The land was given on lease and as per the agreement, the lessee is responsible for all transactions and other related operations. As such, I have no involvement in this regard. The departments concerned have the authority to take action as per law,” Parsekar told media persons.
When contacted, a representative from the restaurant told media persons that the restaurant had been closed for the past 10 days.
“Officials from the Food and Drugs Administration had visited and issued necessary instructions. The restaurant was closed because the fire department was scheduled to conduct an inspection,” the representative said.
