The Colva police team with the three accused who were arrested after a prostitution racket was busted.

The Colva police on Saturday busted a prostitution racket and arrested the three accused, including a woman.
The police have rescued three victim girls, who were allegedly procured by the three accused. The victims have been sent to the protective home at Merces, while the three accused are cooling their heels behind bars at the Colva police station lock-up.
Two of the accused arrested in the case hail from Haryana, while the woman is a native of Ahmednagar-Maharashtra. They have been remanded to five-day police custody.
Acting on a tip-off that the three accused would be coming with the three victim girls for supply them to customers, Colva police station in-charge, PI Tukaram Chawan along with his team of officials and policemen laid a trap at the Colva beach square.
“We had information that the accused would come to the beach square for supplying the girls to customers on Friday evening. We all lay in wait for the accused to come to the spot and arrested the trio no sooner they were spotted”, he said.
He said the police had information that the prostitution racket was being run and operated from the parking lot near the Colva beach square. The names of the three accused have been provided as Arun Kumkar (28), native of Panipat, Haryana, Satwant (27), native of Karnal-Haryana and the woman Heena Pathan (34), native of Ahmednagar.
PI Chawan informed that the trio has been arrested for running the prostitution racket by procuring girls from other states and supplying them to the customers. The victim girls all hail from North India.
The police is further investigating.
