Expressing total unhappiness that the police have booked Subhash Velingkar with just one section of the BNS, the protesters set a deadline on the government to arrest Velingkar by 7.30 am on Saturday morning or face action.
Activist Pratima Coutinho has warned that people will block the roads of Margao from 8 am on Saturday if the arrest does not take place by then.
In fact, she gave a call to the people of Goa to turn up in large numbers in Margao for the agitation planned on Saturday.
The protesters expressed total unhappiness over the decision of the Bicholim police to book Velingkar under Section 299 of the BNS. In fact, the huge number of protesters, who were still assembled outside the Margao police station on late Friday, rejected the section under which Velingkar has been charged by the Bicholim police.
They vowed to continue their agitation till Velingkar is arrested by the police.
Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, Congress MLA Altone D’Costa, AAP Velim MLA Cruz Silva, AAP President Amit Palekar were seen amongst the crowd till late Friday.
In fact, Yuri said the BJP government is out to divide the people of Goa on religious lines, while Altone said the protesters are unanimous in their demand rejecting Section 299 of the BNS invoked by the Bicholim police.
