Margao Sub-divisional Magistrate Jyoti Kumari said late Monday evening that the application made by the anti-track doubling and coal transportation activists has been brought to the notice of the South Goa District Collector Ajit Roy.
She could not further state whether the Collector has called any meeting with the protestors, other than saying that the application made by the protestors has been brought to the notice of the Collector.
Goyant Kollso Naka co-convenor Abhijit Prabhudesai also told The Goan on Monday evening that the organisation has not received any call from the office of the Deputy Collector or the District Collector over the proposed meeting on Tuesday.
He, however, said that representatives of organisations fighting against the track-doubling and coal transportation may call on the Collector with a plea to seek an appointment and put across their views why the order on double-tracking work at the level crossing should be withdrawn.
