The Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd has pointed out that the Railways has requisitioned about 12.9293 hectares of private land in the five talukas of Dharbandora (Sanguem), Quepem, Salcete and Mormugao.
Saying that the track-doubling work is being executed within the land belonging to the Railways only, RVNL further said “out of which 6.1925 hectares land has been acquired by Goa government with the consent of landowners and possession has already been handed over to the Railways.
The acquisition of remaining 6.7368 hectares is in progress under the Railway Act. Till such time land acquisition is completed, Railways are executing the work within its available land only.”
