PANAJI: Quepem Police have detected a theft case reported at Ambaulim on September 10 involving a gold mangalsutra and Rs 50,000 in cash and apprehended two in connection with the case.
In an official report, the complaint was received at Quepem Police Station on September 10, following which FIR No. 40/2026 was registered under Section 305 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and an investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, sustained enquiries led police to identify and trace the persons allegedly involved in the offence.
“The accused Aryan Mane, r/o C/o Johny Cardozo, near Ambaulim Graveyard, Quepem-Goa, and one Juvenile in Conflict with Law (name withheld), being a minor, were apprehended in connection with the case,” the statement read.
Police said the stolen gold mangalsutra and part of the stolen cash were recovered at the instance of Aryan Mane.
The case was detected by a team led by PSI Digamber Bondre, along with PC Siddhu Raul and PC Vaibhav Patil. Further investigation is underway under the supervision of PI Prashal P. N. Dessai of Quepem Police Station.
