Fire personnel rescued a stray cattle that accidentally landed in a PWD chamber at the power house circle on Monday morning.
The incident occurred after the cattle strayed and landed into the open chamber and was trapped inside.
Even as questions were raised how come the chamber was left open when it ought to have been closed, the Margao fire brigade was called for the rescue mission as attempts by the locals failed to get the cattle out.
After the personnel found the animal trapped inside the narrow chamber, fire sub-officer Deeraj Desai and his team decided to pump water inside the chamber, before undertaking the rescue operation. It was with much difficulty that the cattle was finally pulled out of the chamber, bringing a sigh of relief to the citizens who lent their helping hand to the fire rescue personnel.
