Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s October 12 visit to Goa with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to participate in the Goy Rakhonn Yatra and address a public meeting in Cuncolim has been postponed amid INDIA bloc protests over alleged “Vote Chori” by the RSS-BJP-ECI nexus.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar announced the postponement, saying the protests raise serious questions about electoral transparency, accountability and democratic integrity.
“These issues are of significant national importance and require immediate attention and priority at the national level,” Chodankar said, adding that the revised visit date would be announced shortly.
Rahul Gandhi was initially scheduled to attend the Yatra’s concluding event on October 18, but his visit was advanced to October 12.
The INDIA bloc has intensified protests over alleged electoral irregularities, with the Congress demanding accountability from the BJP and the Election Commission of India over the conduct of elections.
Launched on September 22, the Goy Rakhonn Yatra covers all 40 Assembly constituencies ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
