Reacting to the Crime Branch raid on Leader of Opposition Babu Kavalekar's residential property at Betul, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Shantaram Naik said that the provisions of Public Gambling Act should equally apply to the BJP leaders whose names figure in the list of prominent matka bookies of Goa.
Hinting that CM Manohar Parrikar is aware of the names of these BJP leaders, Naik said that this knowledge would make the latter guilty of offence of criminal conspiracy.
"A prominent matka bookie had worked very hard to get Parrikar elected in the last by-election from Panaji constituency. During the previous BJP government, matka bookies had a field day," Naik charged and called for action.
