MARGAO
A visibly agitated Health Minister Vishwajit Rane sought to know from a scribe how the South Goa district hospital is a referral hospital, demanding to know the statistics of how many patients are being shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim every day.
“Do you know how many cases are being referred to the GMC, Bambolim, from the South Goa district hospital? You tell me the statistics about the number of cases shifted to the GMC,” he sought to know from the scribe who posed a question to the Health Minister after Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai claimed that the district hospital has been literally functioning as a referral hospital for want of facilities.
“My colleague MLA Sardesai has called for making the district hospital fully functional. The government is working to ensure that all medical amenities are put in place at the district hospital,” he added.
