Member secretary of SGPDA Ashok Kumar, member Venkat Desai and others were present during the inspection.
Recently, Roy Naik, son of Ravi Naik, opened his political office in Usgao and is expected to contest the bye-election from Valpoi on Congress ticket. During the opening of the office, Ravi Naik had stated that whatever development is seen in Usgao, it was done by him.
Usgao, believed to be the stronghold of Ravi Naik, was earlier part of Ponda constituency. It was included in Valpoi constituency during the 2012 assembly election.
Naik on Tuesday said the condition of the PDA market is not good and it needs urgent attention. "We will make a model to construct the new market and will take all the shopkeepers into confidence before going for construction," he said, adding, "If we get more FAR for the new building, then it will help bring up a good commercial project. I will try for more FAR."
Member secretary Ashok Kumar said the condition of the building is dangerous
and there is a need to reconstruct it.
SGPDA member, Venkat Desai said, "The building looks like it will collapse at any time."
