Ravindra Bhavan Margao has been shut down for a week to facilitate sanitisation of the auditorium as a precautionary measure.
Resultantly, all shows scheduled at the Ravindra Bhavan stands cancelled.
Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Damu Naik informed that the decision has been taken following reports that a staff, outsourced from a agency has reportedly tested positive for Coronavirus.
“As a precautionary measure and in the interest of the people, we have decided to shut down the auditorium for a week to take up sanitisation of the entire premises,” Damu said.
He pointed out that Ravindra Bhavan will reopen and play host to cultural events after one week.
Ravindra Bhavan Margao and other institutions have already come under the order of the district Collector restricting the gathering of people in public places.
