Noted Konkani playwright, writer, educationist, dramatist and politician Tomazinho Cardozo was felicitated for his contribution to Dalgado Konknni Akademi on his 75th birthday at the hands of the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Filipe Neri Ferrao at a function organised by Dalgado Konknni Akademy.
“Do not sit yet, on the rocking chair. You have a lot to write. Me and Tiatr, Me and Mando, Me and Politics, but not of politics of power,” said Archbishop Filip Neri Ferrao while felicitating Tomazinho after releasing a book on Tomazinho Cardozo, ‘Speaking Out “ The Life and Times of Tomazinho Cardozo’ authored by writer Walter Menezes.
Tomazinho Cardozo along with his wife Irene Cardozo, DKA president Vincy Quadros, scientist and professor Dr Nandkumar Kamat and Walter Menezes shared the dais.
Earlier, Nandakumar Kamat spoke on the book, describing the book as the best literary works for the younger generation to read and inculcate the values of a true Goan.
“The book covers more than nine decades of history, especially the pre-liberation era and after that, from 1930 to 2020 and is like a cultural kaleidoscope because Tomazinho is a multifaceted personality,” stated Kamat.
Thanking all including his wife and family members for their strong support, Tomazinho addressed the gathering. DKA president welcomed the gathering, and William Fernandes, DKA secretary proposed a vote of thanks. The function was compered by Daniel F D’souza, vice-president of DKA. Eloisha D’ Souza and Eloira D’ Souza presented an entertainment programme.
