Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir wins quiz contest on Gandhi

Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir Margao emerged champions in the state-level inter-school online quiz competition organized by Rotary Club of Margao and Marg Trust on the theme ‘Gandhi - life, time and legacy’. The team consisting of Ankur Kunde and Sahana Dhuri of Dnyanmandir scored 75 points to claim the first position. They will receive a cash prize of Rs 5000, trophy and a certificate.

The preliminary round of this quiz was held on September 24 with the participation of 293 teams from almost 100 schools from all the talukas of Goa. The top twenty teams were selected for the semi-final round on the basis of highest marks scored by the teams in the preliminary round. The four semi-finals were held on September 29 and 30.

Ethan Savio Coutinho and Nereus D'Silva of Loyola High School, Margao emerged as the runners up at this quiz with 70 points with another team from the same school represented by Noah D'Silva and Jarvis Faleiro clinched the third place with the same points. They will receive cash prizes of Rs 4000 and 3000 respectively besides attractive trophies and certificates.

The fourth, fifth and sixth spots went to teams represented by Pratik Prasad Bhandare and Prabodh Raju Gawas (Dr K B Hedgewar High School, Cujira) with 50 points, Samruddh Borker and Harsh Solyekar (Dr K B Hedgewar Vidyalaya, Tisk Ponda) with 20 points and Prasiddhi Vishwas Raikar and Anandi Shenvi Kakodkar (A J de Almeida High School, Ponda) with 10 points respectively. All these winners will get a cash prize of Rs 3000, trophy and certificates in a special programme which will be held soon.

This competition was conducted by Rotary Club of Margao and MARG Trust with the support from Team QuizLabs led by Swetang Naik and supported by Suraj Kamat, Anish Dhopeshwarkar, Chinmay Naik, Sahil Wagh and Chandrakant Kudchadkar. The Final was streamed live on Facebook by Palash Agni’s PA Studioz.
