Curtorim Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco on Saturday demanded a vigilance inquiry into the issues plaguing the Goa State Cooperative Bank and the role of the committee of administrators of the bank appointed by the government.
“The issues concerning installation of the ATMs, and the decision to tie up with a private life insurance company are still not resolved though the Assembly had discussed them. I have now written to the CM Parrikar to hand over these matters to the Vigilance department for investigations and to bring out the truth and to probe into the role of administrators,” he demanded.
He pointed out that though the reply to the starred Legislative Assembly question states that the bank has not incurred any expenditure on the ATMs installed on partnership model basis, the profit and loss account statements of the bank show consolidated ATM expenses of Rs 76 lakh since its installation.
