Stating that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured that the displaced kiosk owners would be rehabilitated within a month, St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes said that he has already chalked out a plan for the rehabilitation.
“Today, we had a meeting with the CM at his official residence accompanied by North Goa Collector, GMC authorities, sarpanchas, panchas and others in which Sawant has assured that he would rehabilitate the displaced kiosk owners within a month,” Fernandes told The Goan.
“I have already prepared a plan for the rehabilitation and the CM has asked the officials to adhere to it,” Fernandes said.
When questioned, Fernandes said that in all 44 kiosk owners would be relocated including the five kiosk owners allotted kiosks by GHRSSIDC.
“On Monday, there will be another meeting with the chief minister where myself, MLA Silveira, Collector, PWD officials, GMC officials and others would remain present and a final plan would be worked out which will be executed by the GSIDC,” Fernandes added.
Later, in the evening Fernandes and MLA Silveira accompanied by their supporters returned to the proposed rehabilitation site to take measurements. They were accompanied by sarpanchas, panchas, supporters and some kiosk owners.
