The locals were seen taking darshan of Lord Damodar at Zambaulim temple.
During the festival, Mathagramastha Hindu Sabha, manages the programmes and Damodar Devasthan handles the traffic and other arrangements.
Devotees of Lord Damodar from Goa and nearby states attend the event from about noon till about 4.30 pm.
According to information, Gulalotsav festival was celebrated in Phalgun month during the Shigmotsav.
People believe that on Gulalotsav day, Lord Damodar personally plays ‘Gulal’ with his devotees.
Various cultural and entertainment related programmes organised by Mathagramastha Hindu Sabha Margao are organised.
On Tuesday, the devotees participated in a religious procession of the idol of Shri Damodar and sang prayers and also chanted Mantras of Lord Damodar. Many also take a dip at river body neighbouring the temple.
