Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hands over a Mhaje Ghar Yojna form to a woman in Canacona in the presence of Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar and other officials.
CANACONA
Taking full political mileage of the government’s ‘Mhaje Ghar Yojna,’ Chief Minister Pramod Sawant sought to expose the opposition to the regularisation of houses on government and comunidade land across the State and asked the beneficiaries to remember these parties during the elections.
He was addressing a function to distribute forms for the government’s ambitious ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme in the presence of Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, at the Ravindra Bhavan in Canacona on Wednesday.
Taking the podium after formally distributing forms to some beneficiaries, the chief minister questioned the packed audience, “Tell me! Who opposes the Mhaje Ghar Yojana?”
At that moment, some unidentified persons in the auditorium responded by mentioning the names of opposition parties.
Responding swiftly, Sawant told the audience to remember those parties, now opposing the 'Mhaje Ghar' scheme, during the election time.
Sawant directed government officials present to hand over the documents/sanads as soon as possible to the beneficiaries.
In his address, Tawadkar said the BJP government is working to fulfil all needs of every person.
“In Agonda, some people were in panic when they received notices of demolition of houses on comunidade land. Now, all these people will get protection due to this scheme,” said Tawadkar.
Others present on the occasion included CMC Chairperson Laxuman Pagui, South Goa Collector Egna Cletus, Addtl Collector Ramesh Gaonkar, Canacona Dy Collector Prataprao Naik Gaunkar, ZP (Khola) member Shanu Velip, ZP (Poinguinim) member Shobana Velip, sarpanchas Nilesh Pagui (Agonda), Savita Tawadkar (Poinguinim), Sejal Gaonkar (Shristhal), Vrunda Velip (Khotigao) and Nisha Chari (Loliem-Polem).
